In 2026, during my fourth year at IED Barcelona, I developed CUPRA Vigia, my final thesis project.
The project explores the fusion between hypercar performance and extreme off-road capability, imagining a future racing vehicle designed to reach remote and hostile territories. Beyond competition, Vigia acts as a sentinel of these environments, using environmental sensing technologies to explore, observe, and collect data about the evolution and fragility of natural landscapes.

The concept is built around Pure Contrast, combining the adrenaline, aggression, and chaos of racing with the purity, order, and intelligence found in nature. Through this contrast, the project explores a new vision of performance where racing becomes a tool for exploration and environmental awareness.

The design development followed an iterative, bidirectional workflow, combining traditional hand sketching with AI-assisted exploration and digital refinement.

I also wanted to take the project one step further by building the physical model myself. I bought a 3D printer, printed every component individually and later learned the finishing process in a local bodywork workshop, turning a digital concept into a tangible object.
The process was far from linear. It was built through countless iterations, mistakes, changes of direction and long hours of dedication. Looking back, I realize that these challenges became the most valuable part of the journey.
Seeing all that effort recognized with the Best Thesis Design Award is something I am incredibly proud of, and a motivation to keep learning, exploring and pushing myself further as a designer.
